Projected Flow Releases

Roanoke Rapids Dam

Projected flow releases from Roanoke Rapids Dam may change due to weather (e.g., rainfall), customer electric power demand, operations at the upstream Kerr Reservoir project, and various other conditions. Substantial, sudden flow changes may occur at any time and without notice.

Projected flow releases from Roanoke Rapids Dam for today and the next two days are:

  1. The water flow released from the Roanoke Rapids Dam is significantly affected by the station's operational mode. Check out the various modes.
  2. Water flow is measured in cubic feet per second (cfs).
  3. m - midnight, n - noon
  4. Current and historic flow release data can be obtained from the U.S. Geological Survey and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  Data is measured by the U.S. Geological  Survey gaging station located 2.8 miles downstream of the Roanoke Rapids Dam.
  5. A recording of lake levels and dam release schedules is available at (252) 535-6883. The recording is updated daily by 8:00 AM.
