The In-Home Electric Line Repair Program ("Program") provides for the repair, restoration or replacement of components of a residential Electrical System that fail due to normal wear and tear.
- Dominion Products and Services, Inc. ("Dominion"), will repair, restore or replace components of the "Electrical System" in the residence (single family dwelling or duplex) that fail from normal wear and tear. Unless excluded under paragraph 3, the term "Electrical System" includes wiring (other than knob & tube wiring), switches, outlets, receptacles, boxes, fuses, breakers, or connectors, extending from the Customer's service entrance wiring at the weatherhead or tap underground (Customer owned components) through the receptacle box or fixture box.
- After line/electrical equipment is replaced or repaired, Dominion will provide general cleanup. Structural restoration is not included.
- Protection under the Program starts after the first payment is received and enrollment in the Program exceeds 30 days. Protection continues thereafter so long as the Customer makes timely payments. Customer prepays protection under the Program. Protection is suspended at the end of the prepaid period in cases of nonpayment. Customer's account must be in good standing (current) to receive repair service under this Program. To initiate a repair request, or to cancel participation at any time, call 1-800-562-8419.
- The following are excluded under the Program: a. pre-existing electric line problems or electric upgrades; b. fixtures, appliances, appliance cords, extension cords, or light bulbs; c. knob and tube wiring; d. landscape, exterior lighting, or any other wiring leaving the primary dwelling; e. electric lines serving secondary buildings not attached to the home (such as detached garages and storage sheds); f. damage to electric lines caused by the willful or negligent action of the Customer or a third party, or by other insurable type cause; g. utility owned equipment; h. commercially owned electric systems; i. damage due to an "Act of God." Dominion retains the right to inspect the Electrical System within sixty (60) days after receipt of the Customer's enrollment to validate Program eligibility.
- Dominion reserves the right to contract work to its approved contractors on an as needed basis. Dominion does not assume responsibility for any work or repairs done by the Customer (or by the occupant of the residence if the Customer does not reside there), or by any third party without prior authorization by Dominion.
- Approved contractors must have safe access to, and safe working conditions at and around work area.
- Dominion shall have the right to modify the Program, from time to time, and will provide thirty (30) days written notice of material changes. Dominion shall also have the right to terminate the Program on ninety (90) days written notice.
- Dominion makes final judgment and reserves the right to establish protection eligibility.
- Customers will receive an annual bill for the Program, which may be paid by check or Dominion approved credit card. Protection is suspended at the end of the prepaid period in cases of nonpayment.
- Customer's service under the Program is unrelated to your electric generation service, if any, from Dominion Retail, Inc.
- Dominion Products and Services, Inc. will not reimburse the Customer for work performed by the Customer or by a third party.
